Your opportunity

We are seeking an AI Engineer to join the Product Innovation and Development (PID) team. The PID team develops AI-based solutions that are built on a foundation of learning and cognitive science principles that leverage interactive task design, machine learning, and data sciences. Solutions will be integrated in various teaching, learning, and assessment solutions. The AI Engineer’s role is to build, train and deploy generative AI models that power innovative features for the products and optimize current processes.

Position Summary

This position is for staffing the Generative AI / Content generation team, where we are specifically looking for individuals who have exposure, experience or even expertise in the following:

Responsibilities

  • Develop Artificial Intelligence (AI)/ Machine Learning (ML) models to achieve business objectives
  • Develop or fine-tune Large Language/Vision models for language, speech, and image generation.
  • Develop efficient prompting strategies for LLMs, VLMs etc. across all modalities (text, speech, vision)
  • Implement effective methods of AI/ML model testing during development and deployment.
  • Train and deploy machine learning models and provide metrics to document and track their performance.
  • Productionize and maintain models and prompts.
  • Utilize best practices around design, coding, automated unit, regression testing, and deployment of AI/ML models, prompts to production, and responsible use of AI.
  • Work effectively in the agile-at-scale framework.
  • Clearly communicate findings to senior leadership.

Experience and Skills

Education, Certifications, or Special Licenses:

  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Engineering or a related field

Relevant Years of Experience:

  • At least three years of training or experience in AI/ML algorithm development
  • Experience in building models for content generation or finetuning LLMs preferred

Other Requirements:

  • AI/ML engineers will make heavy use of AWS, Microsoft Azure, OpenAI and Hugging Face models.
  • Experience with Python-based AI/ML frameworks, Java
  • Experience with cloud-based (AWS) deployment of models, performance monitoring and issues troubleshooting
  • Experience with ML frameworks (like Keras or PyTorch) and libraries (like scikit-learn)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team
